The Winter 1 Season got started off to a great start last week! It looks like we’re going to have a great season!
SHIN GUARDS/EQUIPMENT The only classes that require shin guards are Jackrabbits, Big Feet and all Micro classes. Kids can wear tennis shoes or cleats on our turf. Please have them bring a water on the field for class water breaks! Other than that, no other equipment is needed – we have the rest!
HANDICAP/STROLLER PARKING If you are new to our facility, if you come in the front entrance you will have to go down a pretty big set of stairs after you enter. There is a way to avoid the stairs if you have a stroller or have special needs. Park on the WEST side of the building and come in through the breezeway where there is a ramp. Once inside take a left and you will see the desk in front of you as well as fields 1 and 2. Field 4 will be to your right as soon as you enter. There are not too many handicap/stroller parking spots, so please only use these spots if you really need to!
MAKEUP CLASSES We do offer makeup classes if you miss a class! If you know you will be missing a class in advance you can choose a makeup class using your online portal! Just go to the view where it shows all upcoming classes and there is a “makeup” button on each one. However, if you miss a class unexpectedly the online portal will not let you make up a “past” class. So, you will need to email or call us to get that made up. **Makeup classes must be made up within the current season. We do not accept makeups from a past season.**
CLASS EXPECTATIONS Coaches should have given parents a short talk in circle about expectations in all parent/child classes, but if you missed it, here’s what you need to know.
Bunnies: This class will do the same curriculum every week. This goes along with the “child development” part of the program. At this age (18mo – 24mo) kids do not like change. They like familiarity, and this class gives them that. They will do some games with the ball, but most kids at this age cannot do 50-min of straight ball work. Therefore, the class also has fun play-time, to give them a break from instruction, with squishy balls, bubbles, etc.
Thumpers: (2yo) Kids at this age are starting to accept “change”. This class will do 3 weeks of the same curriculum, then move on and do a new curriculum for the next 3 weeks, and so on. However, the first week was the Bunnies curriculum for those kids who may have moved up, they might have a new coach, and they might be a bit nervous. Having a review of the Bunnies class will hopefully make them feel some level of comfort before we turn to new games.
Cottontails: (2 1/2 – 3 1/2) If you were in this class last season and were off the field, please stay off the field! We do not want to reverse all the work we did getting you off. Everyone else will stay on the field until we try to transition parents off the field halfway through the season. At this age, kids are starting to use their imagination more! You should notice numerous games where we have imaginative play, and fun interactive story lines setting up our games.
BRING A FRIEND CARDS Coaches with classes that are not full will be handing out BAF cards to the kids after class starting this Friday through the next Thursday. We will have BAF week November 17-22. More details about that when it gets closer!

We start our Winter Season Today and we are excited to see the kids again and meet all our new Kickies! There are a few things everyone needs to know so please read carefully.
PAYMENTS/JERSEYS For anyone who has not paid, or for anyone that paid their membership ($25) and needs to pick up their LK jersey, please arrive 15 minutes before class. There are 4 colors they can choose from! *We do still have a few LK shorts left to purchase if anyone is interested, $10. Just ask a manager about them when you arrive.

PM WEEKDAY CLASSES These are all on Field 4. *There is a LK booth right before you get to F4, in the back, that one of us managers will be at for payment, jersey pick-up and any questions you might have.
SATURDAY CLASSES This is our BIG day! We use Fields 1, 2 and 4. I will email out to these customers separately this Friday with specific field assignments and instructions.
Upstairs BATHROOMS We are remodeling our bathrooms!! We’ve started the upstairs womens bathroom, which means this bathroom is “out of order” at the moment. Please use the bathrooms by F1 or F3.
We are entering our FINAL week of our Fall season of LK! I hope everyone had fun and improved their skills this season, from learning how to dribble with the ball at your feet in Bunnies and Thumpers to getting your head up to make good decisions in scrimmage in our micro classes. This week is going to be so much fun with Halloween dress up AND parent week! Here’s what you need to know…
PARENT WEEK At the end of every season hoppers classes and above invite parents onto the field so the kids can show off what they learned and play their favorite games with their parents. So be ready and wear your tennis shoes! We DO NOT have parent week for Cottontails/Thumpers/Bunnies classes. ANY adult can be on the field with your player. Older siblings are welcome to be that “adult’ as long as they do not dominate the games or play too rough. Coaches will ask them to leave if they do. However, we’ve had parents who have gotten too rough as well from time to time, lol. Please have fun but be careful! Please only 1 “adult” per player on the field.
HALLOWEEN DRESS UP WEEK We started dress up week yesterday, but will continue to invite the kids to wear their costumes Monday – Friday.

JACKRABBITS/BIG FEET SCRIMMAGE Last week we will began to introduce the kids in these classes to a 10-minute scrimmage at the end of the class! We will continue scrimmaging at the end of class for the remainder of the season and hope the kids continue to progress with the basic concepts of the game.

JACKRABBITS/BIG FEET SCRIMMAGE This week we will begin to introduce the kids in these classes to a 10-minute scrimmage at the end of the class! This might be the very first time some of our kids have ever played a real game! So get your cameras out!! Our curriculum has been building up all season long to get the kids ready for this. Expect our coaches to spend an extra minute or two explaining the “rules” of the game this week.

Remember, if your player is struggling, no worries at all! Please jump back on the field to help out and try again next week. This is a process! We want to get kids comfortable enough to be able to move up to our hoppers class next season without parent help at all. I have also CLOSED all cottontails’ classes since bringing in new kids can disrupt the entire process that we have worked towards all season.

Cottontails Transition Week In this class, we work to transition parents off to the side of the field and see how the kids do with coach instruction only. BRING A FRIEND WEEK This week is BAF week; Sep 2-8. Coaches handed out BAF cards all last week that you can use to invite a friend to class. If you did not get one it might have been because the class was full. Full classes are not having BAF due to lack of space. However, if you still want to bring a friend, consider bringing them to a different class this week that is not full. Just shoot me an email to ask for options. Also, please make sure the friend is close to the age of the class. No 8 yo’s in a 2 yo class, for example. If you do have a “friend” who is a different age, they are more than welcome to come this week to a class of their own age. *All friends must fill out a waiver when they arrive before stepping on the field.
